Labor Day 2015

Earlier this year I made a promise to visit at least one major attraction or destination every month; (January was an exemption since we were in Vietnam for our anniversary. I'm a Tourist: Vietnam.)

1. Hot Air Balloon Festival (February)
2. Philippine International Pyromusical Competition (March)
3. Staycation (April)

To kick off the month of May, while almost everyone else was spending summer in LaBoracay, we felt a bit patriotic and visited the Philippine Air Force Museum. It was airplane heaven for Kian to see lots of airplane models. (Though not much on the historical parts of the museum) It was unfortunate that the simulator was closed, it would have been a great experience for him.

And since we were in the area, we decided to go to the Lego Exhibit in Resort World.

Compared to the cost of going to Bora, this was less stressful, less people, and the experience was as always, priceless.

Staycation in April 2015

Earlier this year I made a promise to visit at least one major attraction or destination every month; (January was an exemption since we were in Vietnam for our anniversary. I'm a Tourist: Vietnam.)

1. Hot Air Balloon Festival (February)
2. Philippine International Pyromusical Competition (March)

For April, well it wasn't really a getaway since we stayed in Manila. But it turned out be great still. (Plus, towards the end of the month, Julia had a nasty cut on her forehead that required stitches. So we couldn't really go anywhere.)

During the Holy Week, the family checked in at Acacia Hotel in Alabang. We really got a good promo for 2 rooms; which were nice and clean, the staff were accommodating (Since hotel food was quite expensive, they allowed us to bring in food from McDonald's and Jollibee from across the street for the kids. Some hotels don't actually allow that especially in large quantities.) Although the pool was quite small, the kids really didn't mind having the "Staycation" as long as there was a pool.

We then spent Saturday afternoon in my cousin's house for more pool time for the kids, and some double black for me. (Kian and Julia wnet home with a couple of turtles from my cousin-in-law.)

Easter was spent in our village, where Kian and Julia got some fishes as their prize. At first I really didn't like have pets in the house; first turtles and now fishes. But look now, I even bought a bigger tank for the turtles, had to buy a larger aquarium for the fishes. (Kian wanted sharks). I am now at that stage where I even make sure that they are fed each day.

That's what I get from this Staycation.
